Aceh Thanks Hungary

In regards to promote Indonesian in Hungary, the Indonesian Embassy in Budapest in cooperation with the local Aceh government has held an Indonesian Culture performance week from June 18 - 22, 2011 in the form of traditional Aceh Dance and music bearing the theme "Smiling Aceh" presented by Sanggar Cut Nyak Dhien from Aceh.

Through the cooperation with the Municipality of the city of Budapest, city of Debrecen and city of Keszthely, the Indonesian Embassy has succeeded in holding the culture performances in Budapest (June 18, 2011), Debrecen (June 20, 2011) and Keszthely (June 22, 2011)

The pupose of Aceh culture performance held in Hungary is not only to introduce Indonesia and promote destination in Indonesia to the Hungarians but also as a token of gratitude of the Acehnese people to the Hungarians who has shown tremendous deeds during the tsunami catastrophe that hit Aceh in Desember 2004. as a result of the good sign, Hungary has also build a Children Hospital in Meuraksa, Banda Aceh.

On each city, the Sanggar Cut Nyak Dhien dance presented various dance such as Pemulia Jamee, Rapa’i Geleng, Hata Sopisik, Rantak, Prang Sabibilah, Rampoe Guel and Saman Gayo as well as traditional Acehnese song and music. Prior to the performance, on June 17th 2011, Ambassador Maruli Tua Sagala was interviewed on live by Duna TV (one of the national TV station in Hungary) regarding the Aceh Culture performance. the interview was part of the interactive which present art and culture of various countries. Saman Gayo and Ambassador Sagala’s interview was highly as the request of the day.

The culture performance received a wide attention from the media as well as from the Hungarians. This could be seen from the enthusiasm of the audience who packed the place where the performance were held. In each city approximately around 750 audiences packed the building.

Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia held a cultural art performances Indonesia Kirana in two different cities in Hungary. In the objective promotion of culture, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia pick one of the prestigious State University of Indonesia, University of Padjadjaran to held this event.
Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, together with several travel agents from Indonesia and Hungary participated in the largest Tourism Fair in Budapest, Hungary.
Last August 17th, 2014 Indonesia Celebrate their Independence Day and closing the celebration with Diplomatic Reception on the next September 10th.
The 3rd Indonesian presidential election was held on 9 July 2014[2] and matched former general Prabowo Subianto against the governor of Jakarta, Joko Widodo; incumbent president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono was constitutionally barred from seeking a third term in office.[3][4] On 22 July the General Elections Commission announced a Widodo′s victory. He and his vice-president, Jusuf Kalla, are expected to be sworn-in on 20 October 2014, for a 5-year term.
