Indonesia’s Expedition Team in Budapest

13 December, 2011

On 11th December 2011, Indonesia’s “FASTRON-METRO TV ASIA-EROPA” Expedition Team arrived in Budapest after a long journey by car from the Indonesian capital, Jakarta. The team consists of 13 members where 1 of them is a women-journalist. They had passed 13 countries from the targeted 15 countries along the silk road. Their mission is to test run the 4 (four) Toyota suv Fortuner cars, the Fastron Synthetic Oil, and the Gajah Tunggal tires that are 100% Indonesian made.

According to the head of the team, Bucek, so far they have no difficulties with the vehicles and the components. The cars and all their components are proven tough. The cars and tires are intended for the South-East Asia market so they are not equipped with heaters and the tires are not winter tires but the team survived reaching Budapest without technical difficulties even along the snowy mountains in Turkey, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and China.

Along the way, crossing the borders, they have gained interesting yet fascinating experience from the people of the countries they passed. The scribbles and scratches in different languages on the cars represent those experiences.

Welcoming them to Budapest, the Indonesian Embassy in Budapest held a dinner ceremony with Indonesian and Hungarian community. H.E. Ambassador Maruli Tua Sagala expressed gratitude and wish them strength and success in carrying on the mission. It brings motivation and sense of proudness for Indonesians to know that they now can produce high tech and high quality products and have a team that is tough enough to prove that Indonesia is worth to be known by the world. All the guest supports and wish the team the strength and success for accomplishing the mission.
