More than 30 contemporary art works are being displayed at the Central Park shopping mall in West Jakarta from Jan. 4 through Jan. 15.

Among the artists taking part in the current Jakarta Biennale, themed “Games, Leisure, and Gadget Victims”, are Dunadi, Donna Prawita Arisoeta, Entang Wiharso, Taufik Monyong, Anang Saptoto, I Nyoman Agus Wijaya, and Tiarma Sirait.

The exhibits′ curator, Seno Joko Suyono, said the event, which was first held in 1968, was being showcased in the mall so that locals could become more familiar with the arts, antaranews.com reported on Friday.

“Never before has a contemporary art exhibition taken place in a mall in West Jakarta. Usually, such events are held in Central Jakarta malls, which attract different visitors. We want to show it [the exhibition] in places where visitors are not so familiar with art,” he said.
