The Indonesian Outer Space Institute (Lapan) will lauch a rocket from the Morotai island in North Maluku province next month.

The launch was originally to be held in November but for some unspecified reason the launch was delayed until December, deputy regent of Morotai Weni Paraisu said via telephone here on Thursday.

Weni said a team of Lapan has surveyed that area to ensure the location for the launch.

Lapan has asked the district administration to support the plan to launch the rocket from that location.
